Theme of the Conference: Over more than last three decades, the field of Digital Signal and Image Processing has been explored exhaustively and has commercially matured owing to the research efforts from the industries, academia and R&D organizations. However, the advances in the realm of VLSI design, mobile and wireless computing and communications have led to gigantic research activities in diverse applications of computer vision field over the last decade. It is therefore, very important that the field of image & video processing and computer vision should further be reviewed and explored in the background of all the advanced up-coming applications in the areas of Biomedical Engineering, 4G Mobile Communication, WIMAX and so on. In view of the above, the theme of the conference has been chosen as ‘Image, Processing & Computer Vision; today, tomorrow & the day after’.
Objectives: The objective of the conference is to bring together experts from Industries, Academia, R&D Institutions and other user communities on a common platform to discuss and share their expertise and ideas about advanced technologies & trends. This initiative is expected to result in original contributions towards developments and improvements in the field of Image Processing, Graphics, and Video Processing & Computer Vision. The contributions will be blind peer reviewed by eminent professors from IITs , NITs, other reputed Institutes and Experts from industries. The comments of the reviewers will be conveyed to the authors for further improvements in their work for inclusion in proceedings. The proceedings of the conference will be brought out in hard and soft copy form and will be distributed all over India. The conference is also aimed at bringing out very good PG student level original contributions and publications. Exceptional under-graduate students’ original work contributions related to the scope of the conference are also invited for the review process. However at least one co-author of such UG work must be their guide. Review comments of all the submitted papers will be conveyed to the authors after the conference.
Scope: Scope of ICCVGIVP2009 includes, but is not limited to the following areas:
Image Processing: Digital Signal Processing, Color Image Processing, Fuzzy, Rough sets, Neural & Genetic Algorithms in Image Processing, Image Coding, Compression, Reconstruction & Enhancement, Biomedical Image Processing, Remote Sensing, Biologically Inspired Signal Processing Systems; Computer Vision: Pattern Analysis, Matching & Recognition, Low Level Vision, Image Retrieval: Fuzzy, Rough Sets, Neural & Genetic Algorithms, Object Matching, Object Tracking, Image Registration, Computer Vision in Vehicular Technologies, 3D View Reconstruction techniques; Video Processing: Video Coding, Compression, Retrieval & Interpretation, Active Vision, DWT Applications in Image & Video Processing; VLSI: Image Processing Hardware Design, Parallel Architectures, Analog, Mixed & Digital Signal Processing
Paper Submission: The original contribution papers (not more than 5-A4 size pages) related to the scope of conference, formatted in IEEE double column PDF format should be submitted along with author(s)’ name(s) , affiliation(s) and rough area under the scope of the conference on a separate page to the following email address only: iccvgivp09_submit@yahoo.com and copy to iccvgivp09_submit@rediffmail.com. Only hard copy of a paper will not be accepted in any case. Soft copy of a paper on CD/DVD is acceptable but such submissions are discouraged. Paper format guidelines are available on the website: www.iccvgivp2009.com. A few good papers which just missed the acceptance for oral presentation in review process will be accepted for poster presentations.
Registration: The Registration form down loaded from the website and duly filled should be submitted along with a bank draft of a nationalized bank payable at Nagpur in favor of ICCVGIVP’09, worth registration fees as follows:
Delegates from Industry: Rs. 4,000/-
Delegate from Academics: Rs. 2,500/-
UG Students: Rs. 1,000/-
Registration includes two lunches one dinner, breakfasts,and conference kit. Selected UG students’ papers will be presented in a special session and they will be marked as students’ papers. Only abstract of such papers will be included in the proceedings. In case of the selected papers for oral or poster presentation, at least one author is required to register by paying the full registration fees for presenting the paper and inclusion of the paper/abstract in the proceedings. Accommodation: Limited non-AC hostel accommodation is available in the campus and will be provided to the delegates subject to booking at per bed Rs. 500/- (for two days). Various official guest-houses have been booked and the accommodation will be provided as per the applicable rates subject to prior booking & availability. Other accommodation facilities are available within five kilometers from the campus in the form of AC and non-AC hotel rooms at commercial rates.
Special Attractions: Invited presentations and contributions from the national advisory committee members and a few selected presentations of image processing hardware and software shall add value to the event. Aspiring researchers may get research clues related to the scope of the conference.
